How to play The Chameleon

  1. Step 1

Study the topic board and check your private card. Give one word each.

Example: The topic board includes Beach. Players who know the word might say “sand.”

  2. Step 2

Discuss and vote. If the group misses, the Chameleon wins.

Example: Listen to everyone’s clue, discuss, then vote for the player who seems unsure.

  3. Step 3

If caught, the Chameleon can guess the word to escape. Three-player games allow two guesses.

Example: If caught, the Chameleon can still win by guessing Beach correctly.

Good to know

How specific should my clue be?

Give one word that shows you know the answer without making it too easy for the outsider. Listen to the other clues before discussing suspects.

Can the Chameleon win after being caught?

Yes, by guessing the secret word correctly. This version gives two guesses in a three-player game.

Bring your friends

Create a room with your name and share its invite link or code. Friends join from their own phones or laptops. If you are apart, use a separate voice or video call; Table Bandit does not provide voice chat. One shared laptop is another option when you can keep private cards and answers hidden from the right players.

You can open a room alone to prepare. Start when the group is ready; if someone joins later, the host can restart with everyone. Use the game’s normal turn controls to finish a match, or New round for a fresh start. Add score records a round winner when you want to keep score.
