Word games / TABLE BANDIT
Forbidden Letter
Talk about the topic without using a word containing the forbidden letter.

A good fit for: A speaking challenge where the audience listens for every small slip.

How to play Forbidden Letter
Step 1
The current player speaks continuously about the topic.
Example: The topic is hobbies and the forbidden letter is A.
Step 2
Other players listen and call out a slip. The host records it.
Example: “I enjoy films” is safe. “I watch films” contains A: call Slip.
Step 3
Survive the full time for one point. Two turns each.
Example: If the speaker lasts the full timer without slipping, award one point.
Good to know
Is the forbidden letter banned only at the start of words?
It is banned anywhere in a spoken word. With A forbidden, “I enjoy films” works but “I watch films” contains the letter.
Who checks whether a word contains the letter?
The other players listen and call a slip. The host records it; this is a spoken group judgement, not automatic speech recognition.
Bring your friends
Create a room with your name and share its invite link or code. Friends join from their own phones or laptops. If you are apart, use a separate voice or video call; Table Bandit does not provide voice chat. One shared laptop is another option when you can keep private cards and answers hidden from the right players.
You can open a room alone to prepare. Start when the group is ready; if someone joins later, the host can restart with everyone. Use the game’s normal turn controls to finish a match, or New round for a fresh start. Add score records a round winner when you want to keep score.
