How to play 20 Questions

  1. Step 1

Only the thinker checks the secret answer privately.

Example: The thinker privately sees Bicycle. Everyone else sees no answer.

  2. Step 2

Ask aloud. The thinker answers Yes, No or Sometimes; the host counts each question.

Example: Ask “Does it have wheels?” The thinker says Yes. Count one question.

  3. Step 3

Guess before the twentieth question to win together.

Example: Guess Bicycle before using twenty questions to win together.

Good to know

What answers can the thinker give?

Yes, No or Sometimes. Start with broad questions, then narrow the possibilities. Keep the secret answer out of view.

Who counts the twenty questions?

The host counts each question in the game. Try to identify the secret thing before using the twentieth question.

Bring your friends

Create a room with your name and share its invite link or code. Friends join from their own phones or laptops. If you are apart, use a separate voice or video call; Table Bandit does not provide voice chat. One shared laptop is another option when you can keep private cards and answers hidden from the right players.

You can open a room alone to prepare. Start when the group is ready; if someone joins later, the host can restart with everyone. Use the game’s normal turn controls to finish a match, or New round for a fresh start. Add score records a round winner when you want to keep score.
